In 1966, Chevrolet wanted to compete in the American Trans Am Series. They also have a great tendency to drive extremely well while aimed straight, but aren't known for their tight handing around turns. With large V8s and rumbling exhausts, the Detroit-built muscle cars scared responsible adults while putting huge smiles on the face of enthusiasts around the country.
